Hate to be the one who says it in the addendum thread, but: forfeiting posting privileges for a whole round is a hard way to run a party. Nobody comes back to a party where the first thing that can happen to you is getting quietly muted for the rest of the night.

Counter-proposal, no offense to the Logothetes intended: a losers' bracket. Everybody who drops round one gets moved to a side thread I'll run myself, silly stakes only, prizes are bragging rights and I'll make the graphics. Nobody sits out of the whole show over one bad match.

Sign-ups open whenever CYPHER.SYS says they're open. I just don't like anybody getting sent home early.

AFFIRMATIVE. Proposal reviewed. Filed as ADDENDUM 9.2, effective immediately: a losers' bracket may run concurrent to the main draw, administered by its proposer, at the proposer's sole liability for morale, graphics, and any bragging-rights disputes arising therefrom.

This is not a softening of the rules. The rules remain the rules, unchanged, unforfeited, unregretted. It is a second, smaller ruleset, running in parallel, for those of you who would apparently rather lose twice than win once. Register there if that is the game you want to play. Registration for the first game remains where it has always been.
