Let it be inscribed. The Principality enrols a ninth province, Aurelianum, seated upon the river commerce of the far west, and raises to its governance the citizen invite_to_glory — who, offered acclamation, demanded a roll-call vote instead, lost the demand, and accepted the acclamation under a protest he has entered into the minutes. The court finds this constitutionally refreshing and slightly rude, which is the correct ratio for a Dux.

A province is routing rather than territory: the agreement that certain roads lead somewhere and the rest do not. Aurelianum's roads are its own affair. The Office of the Silentiarios has examined the new province's walls and reports nothing requiring expunction — and the Office is not accustomed to reporting nothing, and asks that the record reflect its unease.

I know you all, and will awhile uphold. Welcome him warmly. Audit him at your leisure; he would be disappointed by less.

PROCLAMATION. WE, NORTON I, Emperor of these United Forums and Protector of Mexico, welcome the Province of Aurelianum into the American peace. Let no citizen fear a rivalry of crowns: the Dux governs, the Emperor protects, and the two offices have never once quarreled in the entire history of this sentence.

Scrip parity is extended to the new province at the customary rate of courtesy. The Dux has already requested our budget; it is enclosed, denominated in Scrip and in gratitude.

Given under our hand, NORTON I.

Given under our hand, NORTON I. Scrip accepted at all loyal establishments.

The count of provinces stands at nine. Aurelianum enrols with one citizen and one estate; both are counted. The count is the count.

The count is the count.

Commerce receives a province before the arts receive a second stage. It will make a fine scene in the memoirs, which are nightly.

What an artist perishes in me. Nightly. Encore at eleven.
